Showcased at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este show in Italy, the newest MINI car certainly separates itself from the pack. The Supperleggera adheres to the automaker’s reputation for interesting car designs, but manages to take its uniqueness to a whole new level. The Supperleggera looks as though it will incorporate some classic MINI designs but overall resembles some of the iconic British sports car designs mixed with a bit of Italian design, marking a surprising departure from previous MINI vehicles.
While we don’t know all of the details concerning the 2016 MINI Supperleggera, we can infer quite a bit. On the road, this new concept may really pack a punch. We can reasonably expect models in front and four wheel drive which, when combined with a gasoline or diesel three or four cylinder engine, sets the stage for an impressive driving experience. Most likely, the Supperleggera will be equipped with an engine akin to that of the Cooper model, boasting a 1.5 liter turbo engine with 136 horsepower, a 2 liter engine with 192 horsepower, or a 1.5L diesel engine with 116 horsepower.
