In its annual New Car Ratings, prestigious consumer review publication Consumer Reports has named the 2019 MINI Cooper Countryman its top Luxury Entry Level SUV. Here at MINI of Bedford, this ranking comes as no surprise to us, but seeing such a respected publication give much-deserved recognition to one of our favorite vehicles on our lot is a great honor.

First off, we should clarify what Consumer Reports means when it calls the 2019 MINI Cooper Countryman a Luxury Entry Level SUV.  In its rating, Consumer Reports stated “Luxury cars can be so comfortable and enjoyable that once you’ve experienced the luxe life, going back to a mainstream car feels like a major downgrade… Many offer uplevel comfort and safety features that were once the exclusive domain of prestige-brand models.”

In the Luxury Entry-Level category, the 2019 MINI Cooper Countryman was up against established luxury brands such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Cadillac and came out on top. The rankers give a rating to each vehicle in the following categories: Predicted Reliability, Owner Satisfaction, Road Test Score, overall mileage, acceleration, braking from 0 to 60, routing handling, emergency handling, ride, and noise. At the end of the day, the MINI SUV boasted an overall score of 82 out of 100, a full five points ahead of the next competitor. The reviewers especially praised the fuel-efficiency, routine handling, and predicted reliability of the MINI Cooper Countryman. Finally, the editors also had this to say: “The Countryman is the roomiest MINI ever and features a surprisingly comfortable backseat. Handling remains agile, making the Countryman fun to drive.”
